My teenage daughter's favorite Christmas gift was the Nintendo DS Lite.  She had been begging for one since six months before Christmas.  I kept telling her not to get her hopes up too high, because they are rather pricey and I didn't know if we could afford one.  I looked online for a long time, waiting for a deal to come up.  I waited and waited.  Finally, one day I found a brand new one on sale.  Not only was it brand new and on sale, but it came with a couple of games too.  I knew that this was the deal I'd been waiting and hoping for.  I purchased it but never let on to her that I had a Nintendo DS Lite for her.  When Christmas came, we gave her all of her gifts except that one.  She looked so downhearted, but tried to look happy with what she had anyway.  After all the gifts were opened, I brought out the Nintendo DS Lite, wrapped of course. She opened it and her face lit up!  She was shocked, and giddily happy.
