The Human Element of Multiplayer Games |

People are creatures who love camaraderie. There are only a select few of those Chris McCandless types who would rather be away from others. I am surely not a lone wolf, which is probably the reason I play online multiplayer games when sitting at home by myself. Online multiplayer games is that star factor that made gaming addictive. Split screen on video game consoles is cool for sports games but unless you are playing on a massive screen that I don’t have it is so much better to play online. More people, more talent, no screen watching and more fun is why I love online multiplayer games.
Back in the day before online play, my childhood friend and I would go to extreme lengths before playing split screen mode. This was the era if N64 and Golden Eye. There is nothing more annoying then playing a shooter split screen when someone is screen watching. It makes sneaking around or camping impossible. We have all done it. It’s pretty hard not to when it is right there. To make screen watching impossible we used to tape a piece of cardboard along the split screen line and then build a blanket fort to section the screens off. Pretty ingenious for little kids if I do say so myself.
