video game console, multiplayer games<--Jerry Brown in the Flesh

In California, there are more laws, legislation and court cases then any one person can keep track of. A recent California case on its way to the U.S. Supreme court has to do with selling violent video game console titles to minors. The appeal to allow minors the ability to buy or rent violent multiplayer games is being headed by California Attorney General, Jerry Brown according to news from USA Today. He is making some pretty crazy connections between violent video games and porn. He thinks the laws should be no different. I don’t agree with that. Porn is not something kids under 18 should be able to buy or rent. Violent video games are not so bad. I agree that certain age groups should need a parent with them to buy mature games but 18 is a little much.

By 18, every single gamer has played at least a few mature games. Kids under 12 or 13 should need a parent present. We’ll see where this violent video game console title appeal goes. Not so sure anything new will come out of it.
