multiplayer gamesNot every company is feeling the effects of the world’s recession. Case and point, Activision Blizzard who previously projected an 860 million dollar target for the quarter, which just ended on March 31, 2009. The financials of the actual company performance has not been released yet but sources within the company and websites such as gamespot.com are confident that Activision Blizzard beat the 860 million dollar mark. Netting almost 1 billion dollars in a single quarter is pretty insane if you ask me. All of their stockholders are going to be in for a sweet surprise when the quarterly report is published.

With more big multiplayer games on the horizon for 2009, Activision Blizzard is going to continue to dominate.
Classic multiplayer games like Guitar Hero, World of Warcraft and Call of Duty series are the major selling points for this company. Every one of those series listed other then WoW has a new title coming soon. Multiplayer games will continue to grow in popularity because they offer the most entertainment bang for the buck. What’s cheaper than getting the friends together to jam out with Guitar Hero?
